To help keep things moving after 10pm, when the crowd really picks up, we automatically add a 20% gratuity to all tabs. This allows our staff to focus on serving you faster, so your next round of Mai Tais arrives without a hitch.

For parties of six or more or an event, we apply the same 20% gratuity to ensure your group gets the best possible service. Now, you may be wondering, “Is this legal?” Absolutely. The IRS defines automatic gratuity as a service charge, and there’s no law against it. Plus, 20% is the industry standard—no secret code or tiki trickery there.

Can you refuse to pay the automatic gratuity? Nope. Just like your tab, it's a set charge, not an optional tip. Of course, if you feel like showing extra appreciation for stellar service, any additional tips are welcome, but the 20% is here to stay.
